Complimentary

In this interactive installation, an ordinary gumball machine dispenses compliments to pedestrians inside plastic toy capsules. The person receiving the compliment can choose to hold on to it for repeated use, pass it on to someone else, or return it to an on-site compliment-recycling container for redistribution. All compliments have been donated anonymously by members of the public through an online questionnaire with the goal of brightening another person’s day.
