A New Song is a curated karaoke party hosted by artist Stephen Sewell. Taking inspiration from the International Workers Order’s 1938 pamphlet of the same name, A New Song features a song selection composed entirely of protest songs. The performance offers the opportunity for individual self-expression within a communal setting to underscore the role that music has played in encouraging collective activism. Public participation is free and encouraged, with multiple performances happening during the festival. Check the project website for available songs.
